Arda TURAN

Arda Turan (born January 30, 1987 in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, Turkey), is a Turkish professional footballer currently playing for Galatasaray in left or right winger position. A product of Galatasaray’s youth system, Arda is a member of the Turkey national football team. (video)

In July 2008, Arda was selected as one of the 100 Best Young Football Players in the World as published by Spanish magazine Don Balón. He was ranked 8th.

Gelibolu in modern Turkish, (Greek: Καλλίπολις), is the name of a town and a district of Çanakkale Province, Turkey, located on the Gallipoli peninsula in the European part of Turkey. Gelibolu is well-known for sardine canning. Also Gelibolu is a historical place to visit. She was center of Kaptanpaşa Eyalet at first. She was a sanjak center in Edirne vilayet between 1864-1920. Bulgarian Army threatened Gelibolu during First Balkan War and advanced to Bolayır in 1912. She was occupied by Greeks between 1920-1922. Fethiye – TURKEY

Fethiye is a city and district of Muğla Province in the Aegean region of Turkey with about 68,000 inhabitants (2008). Modern day Fethiye is located on the ancient city of Telmessos, ruins of which can be seen in the city, e.g. Hellenistic theatre by the main quay.

It is one of Turkey’s well-known tourist centres and is especially prized during the summer.

Fethiye was formerly known as Makri (Μάκρη); Greeks deported from the area under the terms of the 1923 exchange of populations between Greece and Turkey founded the town of Nea Makri (New Makri) in Greece.

Marmaris-TURKEY

Marmaris is a port city and a tourist destination on the Mediterranean coast, located in southwest Turkey, in the Muğla Province.

Marmaris’ main source of income is tourism. While little is left of the sleepy fishing village that Marmaris was just a few decades ago after a construction boom in the 1980s, Marmaris still retains its charm due to the exceptional natural beauty of its location. The district’s population is 18 000 (2005) and is estimated to reach 300,000 – 400,000 people during the tourism season, when the flow of people reaches critical levels. Marmaris’ nightlife rivals anything on the Turkish coast.

It is also a major centre for sailing, possessing two major and several smaller marinas. It is a popular wintering location for hundreds of cruising boaters. There are regular ferry services to the Greek island of Rhodes, and large cruise ships call at the port.

Bodrum – TURKEY

Bodrum (from Petronium; formerly Halicarnassus (Turkish: Halikarnas, Ancient Greek: Ἁλικαρνασσός)) is a Turkish port town in Muğla Province, in the southwestern Aegean Region of the country. It is located on the southern coast of Bodrum Peninsula, at a point that checks the entry into the Gulf of Gökova, and it faces the Greek island of Kos. Today, it is an international center of tourism and yachting. The city was called Halicarnassus of Caria in ancient times. The Mausoleum of Mausolus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was here.

Bodrum Castle, built by the Crusaders in the 15th century, overlooks the harbor and the International Marina. The castle grounds includes a Museum of Underwater Archeology and hosts several cultural festivals throughout the year.

Gülben Ergen

ülben Ergen (born August 25, 1972) is a Turkish singer and occasional actress. She was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and has acted in films and on television. Her most famous role is probably that of Melek in Dadı, the Turkish version of The Nanny. She was named Miss Cinema 1987. During her career, Ergen has released six successful albums and became a top singer.

She married Mustafa Erdoğan, the founder of Fire of Anatolia dance group, on September 5, 2004, and has had a child, Atlas Erdoğan, on January 18, 2007. Since marriage, she sometimes goes by Gülben Ergen Erdoğan.

Tarkan Tevetoğlu

Tarkan Tevetoğlu (born October 17, 1972), popularly known as Tarkan, is a World Music award winning German-born Turkish pop singer. Tarkan has been known for the use of sexual and romantic themes in his work and has been nicknamed the “Prince Of Pop” by the media.[1] He has released several platinum-selling albums during his career, with an estimated 15 million albums sold.[2] He also produces music through his company HITT Music, which he established in 1997. One of a few European singers that has managed to span chart success over three continents without singing in English, the artist is also noted for his live stage performances. Tarkan’s effect on Turkey has been compared by the Washington Post as analogous to Elvis in America circa 1957 and Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegün described him as one of the best live performers he had ever seen.[3] He has also been listed by Rhapsody as a key artist in the history of European pop music, with his signature song “Şımarık” as a keystone track that moved the genre forward.[4]
